World Vision International is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
Inspired by our Christian values, we are dedicated to working with the world’s most vulnerable people.
We serve all people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity or gender.
Our Mission
World Vision is an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God.
Transforming Communities
Because poverty has both local and global causes, World Vision works within communities and across geographical areas to help individuals and groups improve the well-being of children and overcome poverty.
Responding to Disasters
When disasters strike, World Vision is globally positioned to help with immediate needs like food, water and shelter. World Vision also works with communities to recover from disasters and prevent future catastrophes.
Seeking Global Change
World Vision engages institutions, donors and the general public to address the global problems that perpetuate poverty. Advocacy staff empower communities to speak up for their rights, both locally and globally.
Child Sponsorship
Child sponsorship is one of the primary ministries of World Vision. For a little over a dollar a day ($35 dollars a month) you can “sponsor” a child and provide that child with the resources he or she needs to live a healthy life.
Your $35 a month provides:
• Education
• Skills Training
• Nutritious Food
• Agricultural Assistance
• Health Care
• Safe Water
Child sponsorship is an exciting journey of transformation—for the child you’re helping and for you—especially if you use all the tools available to help you bond with your sponsored child.
One to two weeks after you sponsor a child, you’ll receive a welcome package that includes your sponsored child’s photo and personal information, as well as facts about his or her community and country. You’ll also receive a magnet frame so you can display your child’s photo on your refrigerator.
World Vision will keep you apprised of your sponsored child’s progress with annual progress reports. Four times a year, World Vision will send you greeting cards that you can sign and return for your sponsored child. Of course, your sponsored child will be thrilled to receive letters or photos from you anytime.
